Meet Atlanta Orthodontist: Dr. Sangita Murali
DMD, MS, Orthodontist
Dr. Sangita Murali is an experienced orthodontist at Braces Braces. She earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Bates College before going on to graduate from Tufts University School of Medicine with a Master of Science degree in biomedical sciences. Dr. Murali continued her education in the area of dentistry, receiving a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. After moving to Georgia, she completed her Orthodontic Certificate at the Georgia School of Orthodontics.
Dr. Murali is licensed to practice in Georgia and Massachusetts. Her achievements include the Erling Johansen, D49, Senior Student Research Endowed Prize Recipient; The Academy of Dental Materials Student Research Award Recipient; and the India New England News Woman of the Year Nominee and Young Dentist Award Recipient.
Her favorite patient quote after completing orthodontic treatment is, “I can’t stop looking at my teeth. Thank you so very much! No more little smiles for me! We are smiling out LOUD!”

She played ice hockey for her club college team.
She loves Atlanta’s great weather for golf, tennis and paddle boarding year-round.
Her name means “musical” and she’s enjoyed playing many instruments over the years including the piano, violin, ukulele and tabla (Indian drum)!
She studied neuroscience, applied mathematics and public health at Bates.
She grew up by the water near Cape Cod.
Her favorite place in Atlanta is anywhere along the Beltline.
She loves to write and has served on the Editorial Board for the Pierre Fauchard Academy and Georgia India Dental Association.
She’s passionate for research and has published multiple papers.
She served as president for the American Association of Women Dentists at Tufts Dental.
Her bucket list destination is Thailand—incredible food, amazing people and her favorite animal, elephants!
Dr. Murali believes orthodontics is about so much more than just straight teeth. She is passionate about orthodontic therapy because she enjoys forming long-term relationships with her patients, transforming their smiles and witnessing their growth into exceptionally confident and happy individuals.
Along with her extensive experience helping patients, she has moderated the American Association of Orthodontics Annual Session and the TiE Atlanta University Entrepreneurship Competition. In 2019, Dr. Murali was inducted as a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and a PFA Co-Editor in 2020. Most recently, she served as an editorial board member of the Georgia Indian Dental Association.
